DESIGN APPROACH:
Rather than modeling from concepts, I reverse-engineered the Inflict 4 to understand its construction logic. This approach revealed critical details: offsets between material layers, bite-line geometry, pattern construction, and assembly sequences.
KEY FOCUS AREAS:
• Upper construction: Deconstructed into logical pattern sections with accurate material assignments and offsets
• Sole architecture: Separated midsole, insole, and outsole with precise transitions and performance geometry
• Material intent: Applied unique material definitions showing leather, mesh, plastic, and rubber finishes
• Assembly logic: Organized geometry to reflect how the shoe would actually be built
MANUFACTURING BRIDGE:
This digital model serves as a bridge between design vision and factory execution. It captures the precise offsets, geometric constraints, and structural logic that affect manufacturability.
TOOLS: Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Unreal Engine
OUTCOME: Created a comprehensive reference that supports both design review and manufacturing planning, reducing iteration cycles and improving communication with Asia partners.
These are the 3D scans I built in Reality Capture. I did not use them for retopology, but they were key for scale and reference during my initial blockout. For a cleaner final model, I build on top of a 3D last and adjust the topline as I go so the opening reads more accurately as the shoe takes shape.

USDz + AR test
While working on the Jordan Brand team I learned the benefits of the USD workflows. Ultimately I used the process apply it to AR.

AI Colorway and Design Exploration. I wanted to see what the shoe would look like for different universities. I also wanted to see it in a flyknit mesh (Yes, I'm aware Oregon Ducks no longer have a wrestling team but the colorway is so dope)
